*I want to thank everyone who purchased from me at Kris Kinder yesterday, and also to those who stopped to chat, those who complimented me on my work, and those who had suggestions or made special requests. The response I got from y'all blew me away and made me feel so warm and fuzzy, you all really make me feel like a welcome part of the Calontir family. 💜💛💜  I especially want to thank Master Melitus Tim Mercer for all your kind words yesterday. * To all the people who wore needle-felted ANYTHING yesterday... THANK YOU!!!  I used you all as a great example in my children's activity yesterday afternoon. Children's activities can sometimes make the kids feel like they are just doing camp crafts with popsicle sticks, making macaroni necklaces, things that will be discarded after a while.  There's a place for these things, of course, but when you have an activity with children ages 4-17 present, a macaroni necklace is only going to be fun for a few of those kids. When the older siblings present (teens) were hesitant to join the class, because "we aren't little kids," I pointed to my hat.  I mentioned all the other full-grown adults with needle-felted hats, and other gloriously needle-felted items, proudly displaying them.  Needle-felted items might even be given during an elevation ceremony!  Because YOU wore your items, the teens realized the value of my class - plus, they might also check out regular A&S classes in the future to see if there is something fun there for them (one can hope, right???).  Maybe they will start checking out all the things our wonderful artisans make, and consider what it might take for them to develop those skills, too! I was so glad to see our Kingdom Minister of Youth, Sile Inghean Chairbre, organize an afternoon of activities!  I am sure many of you noticed the scavenger hunt the kids were on, searching for various things the merchants might be offering.  She is amazing!  I know I couldn't have done my class without her help - and all the help of the parents that attended, as well. Speaking of parents - a few were already searching for needle felting kits on Amazon before the class even concluded, so... shhhh... I think there will be a few trees this year with those kits under them this year.  As I enjoy the role of enabler, if anyone would like a kit, this is what I have:  https://www.amazon.com/.../ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin... If anyone is concerned about the safety of handing large needles to small children, and asking them to repeatedly stab something for an entire hour or two, well... we only issued ONE bandaid the entire afternoon.  I'm not sure if our Avenger went home as Iron Man, Black Panther, or Captain America, but rumor has it that she very much would have preferred a Black Widow option (wouldn't we all???).  Anyhow, yesterday was a WONDERFUL day, so thank you to all the organizers and volunteers that made it happen!  It takes a LOT of people to make events happen, and I would encourage anyone to see what they can do to do a gate shift, or spend some time in the kitchen, whatever kinds of service you might enjoy.  Even if you're new, it's a great way to meet people! Hey!  Don't be afraid to sparkle sometimes! -Adelaide
* I want to thank everyone who helped in the kitchen yesterday.  I was *by far* not in charge of anything (other than the meatballs) but out of the group that was there, I'm the most active on social media.  For those not local, you may or may not be aware that the person who was supposed to run it, Zoe Mosher came down with an awful case of flu on Thursday.  There was much scrambling to get ingredients and foodstuffs to people, who then did much scrambling (and a little panicking on my part at least) to get that food prepared and into bellies. I can't even name everyone involved, because there were so many, and I admit, there's more than one I do not have a name to put with the face. There are probably some I'm unaware of too.  If you enjoyed the inn, we are all so glad!  If you didn't enjoy the food, we're really sorry, we did what we could under extreme circumstances.  It'll be better for you next time. -Jane Fox
