Rat out a Friend[edit | edit source]

Bronwen Westhold - It is with a heavy heart that I must pass this word along. HL Genevieve Darroch passed away last night in the Outlands. She was one of the founding members of the Shire of Flinthyll, Apprentice to Mistress Lucie, Master Mikel and Master Eadward, she was the first face of the SCA for me and countless others, and a friend to so many. She was a Baker, weaver, seamstress, singer and word smith. Below is the song she wrote for and then called to sing to my husband, Sir Cilian, as he sat vigil. Be at peace my sister.

So tell me now what is a knight? A Knight is the the heart of the army A knight is the arm of the King A knight is the soul of his lady A knight is the hand of his queen A knight is the legs of the broken A knight is the voice of the weak

So tell me now what is a knight? A knight is more than his armor A knight is more than his sword A knight is more than his Destrier A knight is more than a Lord A knight is more than bright chain mail A knight is more than his word

So tell me know are you a knight? Are you the heart of the army? Are you the arm of the King? Are you the soul of your lady? Are you the hand of the Queen? Are you the legs of the broken? Are you the voice of the weak?

I tell you now you are a Knight, So stand and be more than your armor, So stand and be more than your sword, So stand and be more than your Destrier, So stand and be more than a Lord, So stand and be more than bright chain mail, So stand and be more than your word.
