This class reviews English embroidered waistcoats which I have studied in
person with a view to pattern and construction as well as post period alternations. I am
not am embroiderer; rather, this class examines the shapes of these garments. Many

This is a hands-on class where participants will learn how to thicken fiber-reactive dyes
into a paintable dye to create distinctive patterns on your fabric. Participants will learn how to
thicken the dye, how to paint it onto the material, and how to set the dye into the material so it
stays. Since it takes 12 - 24 hours to set that dye, Participants will be able to take their project
home for the final steps. I will have 12" x 12" white linen pieces for your project, but if a
participant wants to use another piece, they are welcome to bring that instead (please be sure it
is a natural fiber!!!).

I am not am embroiderer; rather, this class examines the shapes of these garments. Many pictures will be reviewed.

Turn your Dye into Paint 10:00 Classroom: J Instructor: Ladyship Rébeca la Chienne (mka: Bekah Mardis) Class Time: Approx 2 hr (am) Age Limitations: Yes, 12 years or older Class Size: Limit 8 please Suggested Cost for Materials: N/A Note: Class Limit – 8 persons will be hands on. More are welcome to watch/audit. This is a hands-on class where participants will learn how to thicken fiber-reactive dyes into a paintable dye to create distinctive patterns on your fabric. Participants will learn how to thicken the dye, how to paint it onto the material, and how to set the dye into the material so it stays. Since it takes 12 - 24 hours to set that dye, Participants will be able to take their project home for the final steps. I will have 12" x 12" white linen pieces for your project, but if a participant wants to use another piece, they are welcome to bring that instead (please be sure it is a natural fiber!!!).
