Introduction of Group:
Shire of Amlesmore
The Shire of Amlesmore rests amongst the rolling plains of North Central Missouri covering all or part of the counties of Audrain, Boone, Chariton, Howard, Macon, Monroe, and Randolph. There are members scattered throughout it which often makes for smaller unofficial get togethers of members more local to each other between official meetings and practices. Amlesmore is affectionately called "The Moor" by its members, and is still sometimes referred to by its old name of Amleth Moor. Our neighbors to the South are the Shire of Standing Stones, and then south of them is the Shire of Wyvern Cliffe. On our northern marches is the College of Bellewode. To the East and West are Crown Lands.
History
The Shire of Amlesmore was conceived in 2002, and was originally called Amleth Moor, a name it is sometimes still referred to by. The first event co-hosted by the Incipient Shire of Amleth Moor was War College in 2004. In 2005, the shire became an official shire, but in order to do so the name had to be changed as Amleth Moor could not be registered. For this reason the name Amlesmore was adopted. As the original wish was to be named for Lord Amleth MacAuleth, founder of the Shire of Standing Stones the shire is seeking to change its name to Amlethsmor.
