Rattan Scenarios

Forest Path Battle

The king is returning from Crusade and carrying a heavy chest full of treasure when set upon by bandits. Survive to carry the chest to safety! The chest in this scenario was actually loaded with a cooler full of beer, cider, and sodas. The winning team got first pick.

Creek Battle

A melee was held in a mostly dry creek bed.

Bridge Bandit Tournament

Fighters assumed the role of aspirational bandits charging a "toll" for a bridge they control. Each started with just a single sword and a few coins (tracked by the list table). The format was similar to a bear pit where the victor would hold the bridge and also gain the coins of the loser. Injuries were sustained. Between fights, the person holding the bridge could surrender it to either pay to get healed or go to a "shop" and spend a few of their coins to purchase other weapons which they would then retain the right to. "Alms" were occasionally given to poor fighters as they waited in line to ensure that fighters did not lag behind in the ensuing arms race.

Stolen Materials Competition

Create an A&S entry from a random bag of loot.

Hidden Treasures

Small treasure chests were hidden around site. Attendees finding them were told to re-hide them and those that held them at the end, could either keep them or return them for a potentially better ransom.
