Günther Klaus von Stuttgart
Pronunciation guide: Goon-turr (“Klaus” rhymes with “House” “von” rhymes with “Don”) Shtoot-gart
Persona:
- Stuttgart, Germany. Have played with many time periods, but my Lady wife makes me fourteenth century clothing and I’ve always had a strong affinity for the Manesse Codex.
History in the SCA:
- Timeline:
Started in the SCA in 2005. * Began in the SCA as an archer. * Took up armored combat. * Became authorized in steel in the Midrealm because it wasn’t available in Calontir at the time. * Lilies War, 2007: Became a Fyrdman * Gulf Wars, 2012: I was made a Huscarl during the Ravine Battle, by King Ostwald II and Queen Kaye. * Chieftain’s, 2013: I joined the Order of the Golden Calon Swan for Japanese Calligraphy and Illumination. * Kris Kinder, 2015: I became Calon Lily, also for Japanese Calligraphy and Illumination. (I guess no one liked “Fried Chicken from the Store.”) * Chieftain’s, 2011: I received a Torse for water-bearing and marshaling. * Queen’s Prize, 2013: I received an Honorable Mention and a prize from the Queen for my entry of Japanese Sumi-e. The project still hangs in my living room. Link to Calontir OP - [[1]]
- Groups and Affiliations:
Barony of Three Rivers, 2005-present Squired to Herzog Hirsch Ross von Eichmann
- Other service: I’ve made several GoA and Peerage scrolls in various mediums from ink on silk to carved stone. I’ve also created AoA templates for various from German to Japanese. —During the year in which I recovered from an injury, I trained in marshaling and served in that capacity.

From Günther’s Lady: Günther has a wonderful, baritone voice that can often be heard in the song circle and won’t be satisfied until he has everyone around him laughing.
