*Halimah is a 12th Century Gambian of royal blood from the Kingdom of Mali, traded to the Arabs by her father.  While travelling along the trans Saharan trade route with her new "owner" she eventually came to be traded/sold again to a Spanish Lord and live and serve his  household in Barcelona, Spain. By the end of the Second Crusades, her lord's family moved along the coast into France to a chateau in Toulon.
