Persona:

• Kaz is a 10th Century Norseman, who was born in Russia and returned to the ancestral home of his father when he was 12. His surname is Samostrelov, which means 'of the crossbow' but upon his elevation to Laurel was allowed the occupational patronymic of Verkmastare, which at that time was specific to a master crossbow builder.
• Interests. Various and numerous. Very active interests in archery and missile weapons and in medieval musical instruments. Kaz is a tool user, as much at home with a pastry bag as with a band saw. He doesn't covet ownership of things for their value, it is his belief that 'it's just stuff and you make other stuff by doing stuff to it."
• Motto - "Behold the turtle! He makes progress only when his neck is out.
• Kaz is first and foremost a teacher, Build a man a gauntlet, and he will come back and try to get you to build him another whenever he needs one. Teach him how to build a gauntlet and you won't be bothered building armor for him ever again. Really. It is the best possible solution, self-serving and charitable at the same time. A win-win.
