* Calontir cousins, my heart is full after today's Clothiers' Seminar. My heartfealt thanks to Shire of Cum An Iolar for hosting this wonderful event! ~Mellitus

Clothiers notes:  Now that I've had a couple of days to sleep and de-compress.  I'd like to reflect!

First: To my co-steward.  Thank you to Catlin Martha Rice for helping organize the "Front End" and keeping it manned by your presence and organizing volunteers to keep a "central hub" active.  I dare say working with you these last 3 months has been a great pleasure that I'd love to do again sometime... but not too soon. LoL

Next: To Geraude Jill Sibley.  I know you wanted to step back and let the reins go, but Martha and I keep draggin you in for your counsel and advice.  You are truly the resource that never stops giving and I love you for that.  Behind the scenes you were still a very important part of this event.

Now, On to the Major areas.  Thanks to Hobbe and Branwin Debbie Sawyer for manning the front gate and finding the volunteers to keep it going.  Thanks to Lillian Sharon Raynor and Marguerite and company for the amazing stews and crumbles.  Thank you to Liriel Catherine Kinsey for helping me organize merchants and layout the gym on Friday nite!  Thank you to all of the people whom volunteered under these fine folk for setup, running and teardown! These people became a heartbeat for this event that just made it flow so well.

Now on to my instructors.  This year was a bit of a challenge, and things still seemed to be nearly seamless for the entirety of the event.  For the instructors that were able to step up in a moments notice, just... wow.  You folks amaze me.  I honestly still had enough people prepared "just in case" that I could have had another 2 classrooms full if I just had the space.  You give your time, energy, sweat and tears every year.  I can't thank you enough for giving this event the purpose and the magic that we have all come to know and love.

In closing, this was a special year for me as well.  As 2 of my friends that I've been on and off hanging with in my nearly 35 years of the SCA, became peers on my watch.  Yes, this old man wept.  It was beautiful!  Thank you all for the memories!  Thank you all for your help!  Thus, closes this annual rant.  Always, on a high note!  CALONTIR !!!!!!!

-Randler

Comments and Impressions:[edit | edit source]

  • Calontir cousins, my heart is full after today's Clothiers' Seminar. I got see and spend time with so many friends, see two wonderful worthies elevated into the Order of Laurel, and much other well-deserved recognition at Court.

-Randler
